WVU Sigma Kappa
Theta Chi Chapter
Welcome to the Theta Chi Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority, on the campus of West Virginia University. We are currently located at 552 Spruce Street in Morgantown West Virginia, and have been here since 1991. Through each sister’s face, every goal and dream is unique. The strength of our sorority lies not in our differences, but in our bond.
Sigma Kappa was founded more than 130 years ago in Waterville, Maine. With over 235 chapter across the U.S we count for more than 145,000 women as our sisters in the Mystic Bond. On November 9, 1874, Mary Caffrey Low Carver, Elizabeth Gorham Hoag, Ida Mabel Fuller Pierce, Louise Helen Coburn, and Frances Elliot Mann Hall founded Sigma Kappa. The purpose of our sorority is to provide women lifelong opportunities and support for social, intellectual, and spiritual development by bringing women together to positively impact our communities.
